Our Story

Element Design Build Remodel started with a remodel that went wrong. Before founding the company in Hudson in 2014, Vlatko Demrovski and his wife Bethany went through a project of their own that went sideways, and they turned it around themselves. That experience shaped how Element works today: a complete design before demolition, one accountable team, and a written number before anyone swings a hammer.

We are a residential design-build remodeling company with roughly twenty people across our own staff and long-term trade partners. Our in-house designers, our design studio and showroom on Chittenden Road, and our production team work under one roof, so the plan you fall in love with is the plan we actually build, at a price we put in writing before we start.

We design and build kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, whole-home renovations and historic restorations across greater Northeast Ohio, generally within about 45 minutes of Hudson. In 2026 Vlatko received the Fred Case Remodeling Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Where it all started

Meet the Owners

Vlatko opened his 4,000 sq. ft. showroom in 2018 and has since guided Element Design Build Remodel through years of steady growth and transformation. Originally from Serbia, his journey from immigrant to successful business owner and proud father is a testament to vision, grit, and persistence. Vlatko’s story continues to inspire those around him, showing that with hard work and heart, big dreams can become reality.

“The most rewarding part of leading Element Design Build Remodel is seeing how far we’ve come—growing the business, collaborating with an incredible team, and helping bring our clients’ visions to life.”

The people in your home

Who Will Be Working in Your Home

Your project is built by our dedicated crews and long-term trade partners, managed by one project lead and one point of contact. Every trade partner receives a written work order with Element’s standards before they arrive, and those standards are the same in every client’s home.

  • Paperwork before access. A signed agreement and a current insurance certificate are on file before anyone starts.
  • Prepared on arrival. Every trade reviews the drawings and selections for their scope before they come to your house.
  • Your home protected. Floor protection stays in place, finished surfaces are protected, and the work area is cleaned at the end of every day.
  • Progress documented. Photos at the start and end of each day, so your project lead sees the work even when they are not on site.
  • Materials checked. Element supplies the materials against your approved selections, and deliveries are checked before anything is installed.
  • Problems reported the same day. Hidden conditions or damage are reported to your project lead the day they are found.
  • No extras without paper. If you ask a trade partner for something extra, it comes back to Element as a written change order you approve before the work is done.
  • Finished properly. Each trade completes its punch list and leaves the space clean and ready for the next.
