The Client’s Vision
When we first met with Richard and Wendy to discuss their project, we analyzed every detail.
They wanted to incorporate a coffered ceiling into the design for their kitchen remodel. A coffered ceiling is a pattern of recessed, typically square-shaped panels. However, they can also be done in other shapes, like rectangles or octagons.
Undoubtedly, a coffered ceiling in the design is a bold choice that would elevate the room’s elegance. It fit the style they wanted and masterfully accentuated it.
However, the design had one issue. There is an adjoining hallway that leads to the kitchen. Adding the coffered ceiling would have divided it, which Richard and Wendy didn’t want.
While sitting down with our design team, a perfect solution emerged.

There are many creative ways to solve problems like this during home remodeling design – some produce better results than others. Our designer, Ashley Gorze, is experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated.
Her solution to the problem was effective on every level.
Ashley changed the design to extend the coffered ceiling into the hallway. By doing this, it would seamlessly connect the two spaces.
Richard and Wendy both loved the idea. Once they could visualize the look, they were ready to implement the completed design and transform their kitchen and hallway.

Ashley’s strategic move would seamlessly connect the two spaces. And on installation day, that’s precisely what occurred. The crew arrived and diligently worked on Richard and Wendy’s kitchen remodel.
Everything went as planned. The coffered ceiling was installed throughout the kitchen and hallway with incredible attention to detail. And our expert craftsmen did exceptional work in executing the design.
This allowed the kitchen to remain the focal point in the home while visually expanding the hallway.
And as completion of the remodel neared, Richard and Wendy could see their vision becoming a reality.
It was gorgeous.
The elongated ceiling line unified the architectural and interior elements, bringing the kitchen and hallways together and enhancing the entire space. It created the illusion of greater depth and dimension, which thrilled Richard and Wendy.
